Legacies { Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge }

Margaret Hunt Hill, daughter of legendary Texas oilman H.L. Hunt Jr., was a notable civic advocate, fundraiser and chair of countless boards and events. In 2005, the Hunt Petroleum Company of Dallas generously donated $12 million to The Trinity Trust on behalf of The Trinity for the development of the first Santiago Calatrava signature bridge, which will honor Margaret Hunt Hill’s legacy.

Lyda Hill

“Mother’s involvement has been in many parts of the community, from gardens to historic preservation to social services, so a bridge represents her life quite well. She loves beautiful things, and the bridge is certainly spectacular.”

Al G. Hill, Jr.

“The first Santiago Calatrava bridge will bring a modern image to Dallas. It is an honor to Mom to be named the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge after her many decades of commitment helping Dallas become a better community.”

Alinda Hill Wikert

“Anyone who knows our mother immediately equates her with energy. This development is all about energy. It will not only add to the beauty of Dallas but also add opportunity for a new type of life for the river.”
