From a distance, it looks like any other construction project. But up close the size and scale of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is an impressive sight. "This forms the base, I believe it's 20 feet around," says TxDot spokesman Tony Hartzel.

He says the giant footings will support huge steel cylinders that once connected will soar 450 feet into the sky to form an arch.
