Dallas Morning News: Craig Holcomb, "Plan A for the Trinity is alive and well"

From the article:

City Council member Angela Hunt recently suggested that it is time to abandon Plan A for the Trinity and go to Plan B. She is wrong; Dallas deserves Plan A. The voters have approved it twice, and Plan A, known as the Balanced Vision Plan, is moving forward.

She imagines a 2014 meeting where the council is informed that "the Trinity toll road is dead." In 2010, we should receive the Record of Decision on the Parkway's Environmental Impact Statement and later that year the 408 permit will be issued. In 2010, not 2014, we will know when construction of the parkway can proceed.

Hunt wants "to fix our levees without further delay." Plan A accomplishes this, not Plan B. The current hydrology studies include the parkway in their modeling to address the Standard Project Flood. If we do away with that road, the levees are delayed because more modeling will be required.
