Press Release: The ALON USA Trinity Trust Speaker Series Hosts Smart Growth Expert Jonathan Rose

The Trinity Trust and the buildingcommunityWORKSHOP hosted a standing-room only crowd at the ALON USA Trinity Trust Speaker Series, featuring Jonathan Rose. The event took place on April 2 at The Trinity Center.

Mr. Rose is a leading thinker in the Smart Growth, affordable housing and green building movements. He is the founder of New York City-based Jonathan Rose Companies, L.L.C., a national real estate firm working to repair the fabric of communities by collaborating with cities, towns and not-for-profits to plan, develop or acquire environmentally responsible projects. The goal of this collaboration is to create vibrant, diverse cultural centers with a balance of jobs, housing for all income levels, open land and mass transit.

Mr. Rose discussed how everyone needs to become more environmentally responsible, especially with a sharp increase in growth predicted. “From 2000 to 2050, the U.S. will grow by 90 to 100 million people, and we have no vehicle for handling this type of growth.”
