Press Release: The Hoblitzelle Foundation Awards $2 Million Grant to The Trinity Trust Foundation for Initial Corridor Project in South Dallas
The Trinity Trust Foundation has been awarded a $2 million grant by the Hoblitzelle Foundation to be used for the first corridor project related to the broader Trinity River Project. With this grant, the Hoblitzelle Foundation has ensured that the first major connection between the Trinity River and South Dallas—the Moore Park Gateway—will be a distinctive landmark.
Moore Park is an existing City of Dallas facility located at the intersection of Eighth Street and Rockefeller Boulevard, and is adjacent to the DART station at Eighth and Corinth Streets. In the past it has provided recreational facilities for Dallas’ African-American community, particularly residents of nearby neighborhoods such as Skyline Heights and the Tenth Street Bottoms. The area’s role will be greatly expanded in the future as the park becomes one of the primary access points for people enjoying the many new amenities that will be part of the broader Trinity River project.
