    • What is the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge?

    • The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is one of two bridges being developed as part of The Trinity project, a $2 billion public works project that includes a meandering river, downtown lakes, an island, wetlands, hike and bike trails, a whitewater course, riding paths and nature walks through the Great Trinity Forest, and the Trinity River Audubon Center, which was completed in 2008.

    • Construction of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is located beside the Continental Ave. Bridge. When the bridge is completed the Continental Bridge will be renovated as a pedestrian bridge.

    • Subs that have done work thus far is Mica doing electrical, Tx. Enviromental for SW3P and VFC installing grounding wire. Also Indus Contractors tie steel for drill shafts, columns, caps etc. Special welders have been brought in from Cimolai, the company producing the steel for the bridge. Their skills and training will be key factors in creating the 400 foot center arch of the bridge.

    • Normal equipment, cranes for setting metal/wood forms, drill rig was used for drill shafts and temporary drill shafts, while dozers and front loaders for building pads and other elements of the preconstruction are in use. For the steel shipment and placement, a 600 ton crane is in the flood plain along with other larger equipment the contractor owns.

    • The construction contract for the signature span and approaches inside the levees was awarded for $69.7 million. The construction contract for the approach spans outside the levee was awarded for $50 million.

    • 18-25 currently working days. This will increase to 24-hours a day later in the year.
